Foodie Friday: Boston Edition Pt. 2

Alright, welcome to Part 2 of the special Foodie Friday: Boston Edition. Today we’re going to share with you how to steam a live lobster! We love seafood, and although cooking lobster seemed a little bit intimidating the first time, it’s really pretty easy and is quickly becoming a favorite of ours.

Things you’ll need:

A large pot
sea salt
live lobster

Fill pot so that water comes up the sides about two inches. Add 2 tablespoons of sea salt for each quart of water. Bring water to a rolling boil and put lobsters in one at a time, head first.

Cover tightly, return to a boil as quickly as possible and start counting the time. 8 minutes per pound for the first pound. Add 3 minutes for each additional pound.

Once the time is up, promptly take lobster out with tongs…you don’t want to overcook it ;). Serve with garlic butter and enjoy! Don’t forget to check back for Part 3 on Friday…Cod Fish Balls!
