Before they met, neither Kaitie nor Zac had ever dated anyone. It was as if they knew that someday they would find each other and until then, they were just waiting. Their story isn’t very common, which makes it fun to hear. They met at a summer camp at Cedarville University where Zac was going to school and played in a worship band that was playing at the camp. After that week at Cedarville, Kaitie kept in touch with Zac while he traveled with the band for two more months.
Life began moving fast when Zac got back from those months away, they met each others families, he asked Kaitie out against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset after a game of disc golf, and soon they were talking of marriage. Because they lived 45 minutes away from each other, they would often meet halfway at a park when they just really needed to see each other but didn’t have a whole lot of time. They would sit on a bridge and talk and laugh together. There was also a journal that they started exchanging, writing little notes to one another…love notes, notes about life, dreams, and eventually it would be that journal that Zac would use to propose.
They met at the bridge once again, and he passed the journal back to her, and that’s when she read something that would change their lives forever. Those talks about how they wanted to get married were going to be a reality. And six months after that first sunset date, here they were in Lithopolis exchanging rings and vows, so excited to marry one another, to work together to make an impact on the world around them, loving each other wholeheartedly and staying grounded in their faith all along the way.
