Welcome to our brand spanking new blog! We’ve been working on this for awhile now because we wanted our blog to reflect our brand and be consistent with our website, and this is what came out of that. We hope you like it! Alright, now that that’s out of the way we can get to the good stuff!

As I may or may not have mentioned before, and will probably mention again, this time of year has always been one of my favorites. I love the lights, the smell of holiday cooking, and all of the festive music…I love it all. As a kid I would sleep in the family room so that I could watch the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree and listen to Christmas carols as I fell asleep. There was just something about this season that was so happy and comforting. As I have grown older, that love of this time of year has not abated in the least. I think if Amanda would let me I would probably still fall asleep to flashing Christmas lights and music.

Our tree has been up now for a little over a week, we had put it up and put the lights on, but had neglected to finish decorating it until now. So we just put all of the ornaments on, with Christmas music blaring I might add, but I think it just needs a little something more…do you know what that means? It means we get to run to the store today and find more fun tree accessories!

While we’re out searching for the perfect Christmas garland, we’re giving you an opportunity to do the same thing! We’re giving away a $25 West Elm gift card, and all you have to do to get in on the fun is leave a comment telling us what your favorite Christmas decoration is! Annnnd go! (The winner will be announced here on the blog next Saturday)

::UPDATE 12.15.12:: Congratulations to Sara for winning our $25 West Elm gift card giveaway! Thank you to everyone who commented, we really appreciate you sharing a little of your life with us and we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! Stay tuned to the blog, we’ve got something new and exciting coming very soon!

What a fun idea! A favorite? That’s a hard qualification, since I love all Christmas decorating: the sights, smells, sounds! But the one most memorable to me is a nativity set, because it reminds me of my grandmother. Her nativity was rugged and really represented the lowly place of Jesus’ birth. It didn’t have bright colored paint on the ceramic pieces; most of the color was shades of brown and tan.

Merry Christmas and Best Wishes on your new blog!!!

Dan and I have done special Christmas ornaments every year since we got married. Each of us surprise the other with an ornament we picked for the other. (we’ve even included the boys with their own special ornament since they were born) It is my favorite time every year that we each get our new ornaments and we take out our ornaments from the past and remember those years as we hang them on our tree. Great family time!!

My favorite thing at Christmas is baking special goodies for everyone. I also love burning cinnamon candles.

Hey guys! We love your new blog! It’s so very spiffy! 😉

After much discussion, Ryan and I agree that Christmas lights are the most visually striking! We love that you can do so many different things with Christmas light strands in any area of your home or office space. We even have a little mini string of the retro chunky colored lights that connect to the USB port in our car. We love lights and the cheerfulness they bring when you’re around them!

My favorite Christmas decoration would be the miniature stocking I received from my elementary kindergarten teacher that say’s I had won a free book, up to $1.50 in value, from the book fair. 🙂 Memories like that are priceless!

I love the nativity scene my mom gave us. But just being with my husband and decorating makes this time of year special.

I am loving your blog design 🙂 it fits “you”. I love christmas as well, especially the music, but I’d say my favorite christmas decoration would be ornaments, of any kind and anywhere! I also love snow, but haven’t seen it in a while here in Ohio :/ lol

Are you serious?! LOVE that store, but you already know that! Mine is currently a picture that Selah drew of me and and her then put a hook in it and hung it on the tree…lol. It’s so cute:)

Definitely the lights on the tree. Extra bonus if it’s by a fireplace and I’m sipping hot chocolate with slippers on 🙂

My favorite are these colorful ornaments that our good friends who moved to Australia gave us. Each year when I decorate the tree it reminds me of them! This year I am hopefully getting a nativity scene during the after Christmas sales and I have a feeling that might be at the top of the list too!

I’d have to say my favorite Christmas decoration is the wall where I display all the Christmas cards I receive from others – brings a smile to my face every day!

My favorite Christmas decoration is a small ceramic Christmas tree with little lightbulb ornaments sticking out. Hope they will let me have it this year haha 🙂

Favorite?! I love everything. The lights, the smells of gingerbread and scented pinecones, the warmth of a fireplace, the chill in the air, and the glittery decorations! 🙂

Hmm…my favorite Christmas decoration would have to be cutting down my own pine tree. It makes the room smell like a winter woooonderland! Love your new blog! Very sophisticated and refined.

First of all, I’m in love with that snow globe. Super cute. My favorite Christmas decor would have to be this DIY handmade garland I made a couple years ago. Strips of Christmas fabric knotted around twine. Love them! Ps. Blog looks good! Merry Christmas 🙂

My favorite Christmas decorations are our stockings. Last year Michael and I each picked out ribbon, then I sewed our names onto the ribbons using sequins and beads and then attached the ribbons to our stockings. It turned out great and I’m looking forward to making future stockings for each of our children.

Love the new blog! My favorite Christmas decoration is the “MERRY” letters that I hand painted and that I use as part of my mantle decor!

My very favorite Christmas decoration is obviously quite heavily influenced by my three year old. Having a child, the best part of Christmas is seeing the hope, love and joy of the season through their eyes. And there may be nothing more indicative of this magical time of year than a delicate snow globe in the hands of a little one. There is just something about that little tinkling music box, the sparkling snow that falls that always brings out the biggest smile and the best peals of laughter. It is such a simple thing, it isn’t flashy or new or battery powered. In fact, the one we have is worn and bit tattered. But to me, it might be one of the most cherished and beautiful things that we own.
