We were super excited to head out to Washington for Jaimie and Max’s engagement session. We love to travel, and it’s even better when we get to mix travel with our passion for documenting people’s lives through photography. It was our first time on the west coast, and flying into Seattle was breathtaking, with the snow-capped mountains on one side and Puget Sound on the other. After stopping by Pike Place Market for lunch, we drove up I-5 to Oak Harbor on the northern end of Whidbey Island. Trees soared overhead as we drove, and there was a covering of bright green moss over everything. It made me want to drive super slow and make sure I got to see everything that we passed.
Jaimie and Max are natives of Ohio, and that’s where their wedding will be, but Max is stationed at the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island, so for now that is home for them. When they have some free time, they love to hike and be outdoors, so for their session, we headed to Deception Pass (where the one and only bridge onto the island is), which is surrounded by beautiful parks and hiking trails.
They each wrote a little message, rolled it up and put it in a bottle, and toss it out into the pass 🙂Love these! So quiet and peaceful looking…Gotta love cozying up in a blanket together :), and extra special is the fact that Jaimie’s mother hand-knit this blanket for them…how sweet!Love, love, love!We just had to have them go out and stand underneath this absolutely epic looking tree, and I love how it turned out!We finished out on the beach once again, with driftwood scattered all around, and a light drizzle coming down.Jaimie and Max, thank you so much for having us come out to Washington, it was amazing! You guys are so much fun and we can’t wait for your wedding next month!
