Their story begins back in the summer of 2008, at a Best Buy store. Stephanie and Vince first met when she got a job at the same store that he worked at. Now, there was a sort of instant attraction, but both of them were otherwise involved, so at this point their relationship didn’t move past that of coworkers. A little while down the road, Stephanie decided to move to Texas to “start over” if you will. Following a rough breakup she wanted to get away and move on, so to Texas she went. After awhile though, she began to miss everyone that she had left behind and was drawn back to Ohio. She transfered back to the store that Vince worked at and the day before she started, she stopped in at the store. And can you guess who she ran into? Vince says that when he saw her walking into Best Buy. At that moment. He just had this feeling like God was telling him that they were going to get to know each other and become the closest of friends. They began talking and hanging out, and had a great time together. Nothing had been defined though, and Stephanie wasn’t really sure where they stood. So when she found out that Vince had changed his facebook relationship status to “in a relationship”, she was disappointed, assuming it was with someone else. But she quickly found out otherwise!

Eventually there was talk of getting engaged and married. They talked about their dreams and their aspirations. Both Stephanie and Vince share a passion for sharing God’s love, especially to Native Americans, so when they started talking about and looking for engagement rings, they wanted something a little different. Something unique and meaningful. Instead of a diamond ring, they decided to both get a single band inscribed with the phrase “I am my beloved’s and he/she is mine” in Hebrew. One of Stephanie’s favorite places to go, relax, and spend time with God, is Hargus Lake. So it is no surprise, and is so fitting, that that’s where Vince took her to ask if she would spend the rest of her life with him as his wife, after taking her on a boat ride to an island in the middle of the lake. And thus began this new journey to marriage and onward, following their dreams together and sharing in life.

This past weekend we had the great privilege of photographing Stephanie and Vince’s wedding, of witnessing the excitement as they waited for that moment when they would stand at the end of that lantern lined grassy aisle and pledge their love and their lives to one another. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the wedding day, the arranging of the finishing touches and the sound checks, there was a simple peace and joy that filled the air.  The beautiful flowers and details that Stephanie picked out and put together for their wedding perfectly supplemented the natural beauty of the location. Amanda couldn’t stop talking about how much she loved all of the decorations.

How cute is this flower girl…geez!
Love this next shot…such a stud.
I’m really loving the clean, classic look of the grey suit and black skinny tie…so good.

Vince plays bass in the band Fever Fever and his bandmates were the groomsmen, which made for a lot of fun!
I don’t know what to say about this picture…except awesome!
Stephanie and Vince didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, but they did want to be able to have a moment together to hold hands and pray together. We had never done anything quite like this, but it was definitely something special. Vince stood behind a tree with his eyes closed and waited for Stephanie to come and grab his hand from the other side of the tree. Such a cool way of mixing tradition with being able to spend a couple minutes together before the ceremony!
Love this!
Loved Stephanie’s bouquet and pearls…she wore the pearls in memory of her Nanny who she had been very close to.
I love the relaxed feel of having each bridesmaid wear a different dress.
Stephanie and Vince also shared communion together, another unique and special addition to their ceremony.

Cannot wait to post the second half of Stephanie and Vince’s wedding day tomorrow! Until then…have a wonderful Friday!
