After our time in South Carolina and Atlanta, we stopped in to visit our friend Handley in Birmingham over a delicious lunch at Feast and Forest. It was lovely to see her again, and we are so excited to see all of the beautiful weddings that she puts together this year! Keeping with the lunch meetings theme, the next day we met the super talented and incredibly sweet, Tori Austin in Fairhope, AL. We have gushed over her beautiful floral designs and impeccable styling for awhile, so it was a lot of fun to finally meet and get to know her a little bit. After that, we stopped in Ocean Springs, MS to visit Amanda’s great uncle Matt before heading to New Orleans for some Mardi Gras fun with our good friend, Brittany. We had never been to New Orleans before, so we were excited to experience a new place, and the experience was sweet, particularly the beignets from Café Du Monde. Agh, so good! We also saw several street performers, including the most adorable couple named Wael and Anna who were playing violin by Jackson Square, and he had their daughter strapped to his back. Not only were they really talented, and we may or may not have bought their cd, but it was also really cute to see them performing with their child there with them. They had ear plugs and ear muffs to protect the baby’s ears, but she wasn’t into the ear muffs, and kept taking them off and dropping them on the ground, haha! That evening we went to the Muses parade, which was so much fun, and the perfect way to end our time in NOLA.
